FrameFlow - Exchange Server Monitoring
Keep Track of Your Exchange Servers & Make Sure the Mail is Flowing
Exchange Server is one of the most popular corporate e-mail systems and
FrameFlow includes detailed monitoring for it with a dedicated event monitor plus
handy SMTP/POP3 based event monitors.
Exchange Performance Event Monitor
FrameFlow's Exchange Performance event monitor watches a large set of important performance
counters for Exchange and alerts you whenever thresholds are crossed. It includes
options to warn if rates go over a specified value or to warn if they drop under different value.
For example you can watch the Messages Sent/sec counter and get warned if the value exceeds
a specified value. Too many messages being sent can be the result of spam problems or a
runaway application. Or you could watch if the Messages Sent/sec goes under a specified
value. In normal operations there is usually a steady flow of messages being sent,
especially from 9-to-5. If the rate approaches zero it can indicate a system issue that
needs attention.
Exchange Performance Monitoring
SMTP/POP3 Loop Event Monitor
In some cases, Exchange can be running, all of its services can be running
but the mail still isn't getting through. The only way to be sure is to send a
message from one account and verify that it arrives in another account and that's
exactly what FrameFlow's SMTP/POP3 Loop event monitor does.
You give it the details for two mailboxes and it sends a test message from the
first and makes sure it arrives in the second. You can even use it with external
mailboxes to make sure mail gets to your Exchange server from the outside and in
the reverse direction too.
