FrameFlow - SNMP Monitoring
Monitor Your Switches, Routers and Other SNMP Devices
FrameFlow includes an SNMP monitor that can watch your switches, routers and other
SNMP-enabled devices. Just add a new SNMP Uptime event monitor and point it to your
SNMP devices. It will start monitoring them on the schedule you choose, will report
on their uptime and will alert you about power downs and restarts.
SNMP Uptime Display
Core Monitoring
If a switch or router goes down, the complaints start pouring in right away.
FrameFlow's SNMP event monitor has an option to warn you if any of your SNMP devices
stop responding to requests for any reason.
More SNMP Monitoring
You can also use FrameFlow's SNMP Bandwidth event monitor to record traffic levels on
individual interfaces. You can use the SNMP Process event monitor and SNMP Uptime event monitors to
keep track of detailed system performance and availability.
These event monitors rely on standard SNMP values supported by all units and they hide all of the ugly
details about SNMP so you can get the monitoring data you need without any hassles.
Roll Up Your Sleeves
For advanced monitoring, FrameFlow includes a generic SNMP event monitor that will let you watch any SNMP value
using its numeric OID or symbolic name. It works great in combination with
our free SNMP Browser, a graphical tool that lets you explore
the SNMP values supported by your devices. Both the event monitor and our browser are extensible using
standard SNMP MIB files. Just download them and drop them in the MIBs subfolder.
SNMP Trap Monitoring
Lastly, you can use FrameFlow's SNMP Trap event monitor to catch traps from your networking gear.
By rolling out a combination of SNMP polling and trap management you'll always have direct insight
into networking operations.
