Summary

This article offers tips and techniques for troubleshooting problems with FrameFlow's e-mail notifications. If your e-mail notifications aren't arriving, try the following to troubleshoot the problem.

Send Test Message

  1. In the FrameFlow web interface, go to "Settings > Notifications: Email Settings"
  2. Under "Outgoing Mail Server Settings", click on the edit button of your SMTP server.
  3. In the "Outgoing Mail Server Settings" dialog, click on "Send Test Message..."
  4. Enter an E-mail address to send the test message to and click "Send"

If FrameFlow reports the test E-mail was successfully sent but it does not arrive, you should then check your spam filters. If an error occurred, the returned error message may give a clue to the actual problem. Ex: wrong credentials.

Enable E-mail Logging

To tell FrameFlow to enable E-mail logging. Go to the go to "Settings > Notifications: Logging" section of the Settings.

Turn on the option labeled "Enable logging of e-mail notifications to 'email.log'".

Try sending another test message and then check the "Email.log" file that is generated Logs subfolder under in your installation folder.

Try a Different SMTP Server

  1. In the FrameFlow web interface, go to "Settings and Preferences" -> " Notification Settings" -> "E-mail Notification Settings"
  2. Under "Outgoing Mail Server Settings", click on the "Add Outgoing Mail Server" button.
  3. Enter the SMTP settings and then, click on "Send Test Message..."
  4. Enter an E-mail address to send the test message to and click "Send"

Check your Spam Filters

Check your spam filters to see if the notification e-mails and test e-mails are being caught. Use the "Send Test Message" feature to test any changes to your spam filtering.
