Device Failure Event Monitor

Monitors and alerts on device failure.

Overview

Checks the device manager on servers and workstations for failed devices. Connects to remote Windows machines and checks the device manager's list of devices for any that are in a failed state.

Use Cases

  • Receiving alerts about all failed devices minus devices you choose to ignore

Monitoring Options

This event monitor provides the following options:

Alert With [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the Device Cannot Be Contacted

Use this option to get alerts if FrameFlow could not contact the selected device.

Alert With [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if any failed devices are detected

Use this option to be notified when failed devices are found.

Ignore devices whose names contain any of the following text strings

Use this option to selectively ignore the devices you specify.

Ignore disabled devices

Use this option to exclude disabled devices from all alerts.

Authentication and Security

The account used for authentication must be a member of the Performance Monitor Users group and the Distributed COM Users group or have admin rights.

Number of Failed Devices The total number of devices in a failed state.
