Windows Time Event Monitor Reference Guide

Windows Time Event Monitor

Checks the date and time settings on a Windows system and compares it with the date and time on the FrameFlow server.

Overview

This event monitor checks the time and date settings on all your Windows machines, comparing them with the date and time on your FrameFlow server. It's an easy way to get notified about discrepancies based on seconds or UTC offset.

Use Cases

  • Detecting and receiving alerts about discrepancies between the time on your FrameFlow server and the time on your Windows devices.
  • Making sure time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) work as expected

Monitoring Options

This event monitor provides the following options:

Alert based on detected time difference

This option allows you to choose the number of seconds difference between the times on your Windows machines and the FrameFlow server's time that will trigger each level of alert.

Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the time zone does not match that of the monitoring server

Sends an alert of your choice if the time zone of the Windows device does not match the time zone on your FrameFlow server.

Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the UTC offset is not [offset]

Use the dropdown menus here to select the level of alert you want to receive and the UTC offset of your FrameFlow server. Windows devices that don't match the specified UTC offset of your FrameFlow server will trigger the chosen level of alert.

Authentication and Security

The account used to monitor this device must be a part of the Remote Management Users group.
